About

I’m Ari, this is my blog.

I was born in Boston in 1980 to a pair of political scientist MIT graduate students. Fast forward to 2003, and I graduated from MIT with two degrees in Computer Science and had no clue what I was doing with myself.

After a stint as a web developer at Oracle Corporation, I started working as a law clerk in patent litigation, which I did for six years, including three while at Harvard Law School and two years after as a real lawyer. I have one (and hopefully only one) trial under my belt too.

Realizing that, at the end of the day, I really love technology (especially software) and startups, I stumbled into yet another career transition into technology-and-startup-focused corporate work, and now I’m the General Counsel for Tumblr, which is awesome.
